Indian actress Devia Uni revealed her experience of bargaining, sexual extortion, when she went to Kerala South country in 2015, to a working meeting with a film director, to discuss her role in the film.
Instead, she was invited to the director's room at the hotel at 9:00 pm and the director offered her sex and told her she had to make concessions if she wanted to succeed in filmmaking.
"You hear all the time about female actors being asked by directors for their hotel rooms at night, but I did not doubt I went with a recommendation," she told Reuters.
She refused and left without a role in the film.
Three women working in Bollywood, India's largest film industry, told Reuters that what Uni said was not rare.
