This show, exclusively produced for the International Festival of Carthage, is an artistic journey rich in colors and metaphors offering a selection of melodies wonderfully loaded with heritage references drawn from the Maghreb countries that have perpetuated the musical tradition of Malouf by fulfilling it with their distinctive cultural characteristics.
A beautiful mosaic of sounds and rhythms composed with great care by Maestro Mohamed Lassoued who, like an alchemist, has reproduced the great epic of Andalusian Malouf with all its regional variations, while introducing more contemporary expressions.
The show was majestic, meaningful and creative and mainly with a high quality performed by outstanding artists who have celebrated the Malouf and its authentic rhythms throughout their artistic career to the point of becoming the worthy representatives.
Opened by a piece of instrumental music performed by an orchestra of 65 musicians, the show chained the most beautiful melodies by the voice of Dorsaf Hemdani who sang "mahla Layali Chbiliya", followed by Zied Gharsa the undisputed master of the Tunisian Malouf who played "Kam Ayarou", then the Moroccan Abir Abed, with her sweet voice, interpreted the song "Bent Bladi". This musical journey continued with the Algerian artist Abbas Righi who offered to the audience of Carthage, a beautiful interpretation of the song "Chahbet Layam", place then to the Spanish artist Maria Marin who amazed the audience with its mixed flamenco melodies.
The show was ended by the song "Samra Ya Samra" of the great artist Hedi Jouini who offered us the most beautiful songs that will remain forever in the collective memory.
It should be noticed that the next show proposed by the 54th session of the International Festival of Carthage will be with the French humorist Jamel Debbouze on Monday, July 16, 2018 starting from 22h00 at the Roman Theater of Carthage
