TUNIS, M. Mohamed Zinelabidine, Minister of Cultural Affairs opened on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the City of Culture, the second session of the Carthage Days for Contemporary Art in presence of a large number of Tunisian and foreign artists with many participants at the national and international exhibitions that will be opened on this occasion.

For the second time since their creation in 2018 by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Carthage Days for Contemporary Art did not failed to highlight one of their major objectives, that of devoting decentralization as a strategic step in accordance with the guidelines implemented by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs to guarantee for each region and for each citizen the right for culture with all its expressions.

This official opening was preceded by the JACC in the regions with two main events, the first in Tataouine where young people supervised by experienced artists took part in a vast pictorial program through which they got the opportunity to sharpen their skills while expressing freely their creative genius.

The second step made by the JACC was in the region of Kasserine with a program where the participants created contemporary works of art that they dedicated to this region.

Placed under the theme “Art Works”, this session, which will continue until November 22, 2019 has been reflected and carried out in a spirit of great event that will be held at the Museum of Bardo, the Abdelia Palace in La Marsa, and Ennajma Ezzahra while the City of Culture offers a reflection panel, a major international exhibition and a national exhibition.

“Art works” is the theme of this new session organized by the Agency for Heritage Development and Cultural Promotion and which offers a new occasion to the art of poster, design and engraving in addition to the international exhibition which occurs with the participation of 57 foreign artists from 20 countries.
