Born from an initiative of the Gabesian cultural association "Cinema for all", this film festival will take place in open air in the places of the Arts IN four cities of southern Tunisia: Gabès, Metlaoui, Djerba and Tataouine.
The director of the festival and the association "Cinema for all" Abdel Wahed Hmidet stated that this festival is part of the association’s vision of a decentralized culture and a Cinema accessible to every Tunisian citizen, everywhere on the territory of the republic.
He said the festival is a logical continuation of the association's work with its main partner, European program Med Film.
One of the main lines of this cooperation is to promote gender equality and the representation of women in the film industry.
The festival, for which director Selma Baccar is patron of the first edition, will pay tribute to several female figures of Tunisian cinema and will focus its programming on films dealing with women's issues in the Arab world and the Mediterranean.
A section entitled "HER FILM" will screen 10 films and master-classes with Tunisian women directors.
After unveiling the festival poster, director Abdelwahed Hmidet announced the program that will be presented to the public, as part of a traveling carnival, which will visit four cities: Gabes, Metouia, Djerba and Tataouine.
