Tunisia: Exit of one of the largest officials of the "Ennahda" movement

Egyptian News Vision // Tunisia // Awad Salam// While the official announcement of Abdel-Fattah Morou’s resignation from the “Renaissance” party did not take place, the man announced that he would retire from political life, and would devote himself to other concerns related to public affairs.

And if Abdel Fattah Moro is no longer the man of political weight as he was in the past, he is considered one of the founders of the movement since he was called "Islamic Jihad".

Political analysts and observers of the political situation in Tunisia see that Abdel Fattah Morou and other historical leaders of the "Ennahda" movement have begun to get restless from the monopoly of the movement's leader, Rashid Ghannouchi, of the decisions in his favor and those close to him.

The party is also living in a period of internal divisions that began with the presidential elections and Rashid Ghannouchi's insistence that the party participates in it, and Abdel Fattah Moro was the candidate, but this division made many of the movement's leaders vote in favor of Qais Saeed.

This resignation comes after a speech delivered by President of the Republic, Qais Saeed, on the night of Eid Al-Fitr, during which he revealed what he called them "who want to drag the country into chaos", stressing that he is the only president of Tunisia at home and abroad, about the external contacts that Rashid Ghannouchi made with the side Libyan, which was the reason for setting an accountability session for him in Parliament.

Observers believe that Moro’s decision to withdraw deepens the rift within the movement, which is experiencing unprecedented differences, especially as it comes weeks after the resignation of the leader Abdel Hamid Al-Jalasi, who confirmed his move came because of the leadership of the Renaissance movement, Rashid Ghannouchi, and the group close to him, the movement’s decisions on Account of its historic leaders.
