Lebanon:- After Carlos Ghosn, 65, fled from Japan to Beirut, he went to his home and was reunited with his wife, Carol, who described the encounter with her husband as "the best gift of my life" and expressed her joy in joining them again.

Since the "reuniting of the two lovers", Carlos and Carroll have stayed at their home in Lebanon, while Western media have described Carroll as the mastermind of her husband's smuggling from his Tokyo apartment to Beirut.

Carroll recently spoke, after news from close associates, that Carlos decided to flee Japan after the "Japanese courts" denied him any contact with his wife over the Christmas period.

Ghosn apparently felt that Japanese judges were seeking to delay his trial, and he feared that the trial would not actually start before 2021, which means that he would stay away from his wife for longer than expected.

And in comments to Carroll on the different scenario of Carlos’s escape from Japan, especially that which he says was smuggled in a bag of a large musical instrument, Carroll described the process as a “pure fantasy”, but in return she did not provide any other details about her husband's escape.

Carroll has resorted to all means to secure the release of her husband, appealed to US President Donald Trump, went to France in an attempt to save him, then Japan complained to G20 leaders.
