International vision: A missile attack occurred, at dawn on Friday, January 28, 2022, on Baghdad International Airport, and a civilian plane was damaged but no casualties.

Baghdad International Airport was attacked with six missiles, causing material damage, including to a civilian plane that was parked on the airport grounds, without causing any casualties.

A security source told AFP: "Baghdad International Airport was attacked with six missiles, which caused material damage," noting that "a civilian plane was damaged without causing any casualties."

A senior source at Baghdad International Airport confirmed to AFP that "the damaged Boeing 767, belonging to Iraqi Airways, was stopped for maintenance for a while."

An official statement by the Iraqi Airways, affiliated to the Ministry of Transport, confirmed that "the missile bombing that targeted Baghdad International Airport, damaged one of the company's out-of-service planes perched in the vicinity of the airport," stressing that "our direct flights continue."
