According to a reliable source close to AS Arabia, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has received strong assurances from CAF to consider the Wydad sport file when it is presented to the African Union (AU) Emergency Committee, which will meet in Paris.
"All the indicators are in the interest of Wydad Sports given the strength of the points that will be included in the file," the source added.
The same source said: The prevailing trend within CAF is that the re-match of the CAF Champions League final of 2019 will be in a neutral country and in a playoff match.
The rules and regulations in force provide that the team that does not use the mouse technique, if approved by CAF in a match of its competitions, shall be considered to be defeated by 2-0.
On the other hand, the supporters of Wydad Sports demanded that the law be applied literally and that their team be victorious with two goals to zero, instead of resorting to the option of the final match.
The same source pointed out that the neutral stadium may be a Gulf state, either the United Arab Emirates or Qatar, at a time when other media reports confirmed that the Moroccan stadium that the final may be Algeria or France as well.
